Women's Cup 2027

The Women's Cup is a one-weekend knockout competition for female players, open to those playing at UKWB Development League or Under 15s League standard, from the age of 8.

The competition is contested over two days with 7 teams. Hoops Basketball Centre in Barrow-in-Furness will be the venue for this event.

Classification Rules

  • Non-disabled and unclassifiable players compete at a classification of 4.5 points
  • Players pending formal classification may compete at their expected classification pending confirmation
  • Base points limit: 16.0 points on court, capped at 18.0 points after allowances
  • If a junior player is on court, an allowance of 1.0 point is added to the team's overall points limit
  • No female player allowance applies — all players in this competition are female
  • As per BWB's Trans Athlete Policy, trans athletes whose sex at birth is female may compete; trans athletes whose sex at birth is male are not eligible

Format

The Women's Cup is contested over two days with 7 teams. Only one team per club may enter, and players may not play for more than one team. Day 1 is a seeding round (no eliminations) that determines seedings 1–7 for the Day 2 knockout stage, in which every team has a path to the Cup Final.

  • 4 x 8 minute quarters
  • 1 minute break between quarters
  • 3 minute break at half time
  • 2 x 1 minute timeouts per team per game
  • 15 minutes warm-up before each game
