SCRD
SCRD is the match-day app from UK Wheelchair Basketball. It does two jobs at a game: it scores the game, and it live streams it to YouTube from a phone — with the live score drawn onto the picture.
Clubs can connect their own YouTube channel and stream their own games to their own audience. No capture card, no laptop, no streaming software — a phone and a tripod.
SCRD is published and operated by UK Wheelchair Basketball, a charity registered in England and Wales (1192726). It is the app behind the Google API access requested by UK Wheelchair Basketball.

What the app does
Scoring
Table officials run the game from the app: score, clock, periods, timeouts and fouls. The score is published live, so anyone following at home sees it as it happens, and it becomes the official record of the game.
Broadcasting
The phone streams the game straight to YouTube and draws the live score bug onto the picture as it encodes, so the broadcast carries the score without any equipment at the venue beyond the phone itself.
The app is used by people with a role in a game — table officials and referees, who score, and broadcasters, who film. Club administrators can also run and stream their own club's games. Everyone signs in with their existing UKWB members account.
For clubs
Streaming your own games, to your own channel
A club can connect its own YouTube channel, then stream its own games there — friendlies, training games, tournaments, anything you arrange yourself. The listing is created for you, with a thumbnail and a scheduled start time, so you are not building one by hand before every game.
Connect your channel
A club administrator signs in to the members portal, opens the club's YouTube settings, and presses Connect YouTube channel. You are taken to Google, where you sign in to the account that owns the channel and approve access. Google will name UK Wheelchair Basketball on that screen — that is us, as the charity that publishes SCRD. You only do this once.
Create the game
Create the game in the members portal, choose your club, and set the date and time if it is arranged for later. Games arranged in advance appear in the app on the day.
Turn streaming on for that game
Streaming is chosen per game. A connected channel is permission, not instruction — nothing is streamed unless you ask for it on that game.
We create the listing
We create a scheduled live broadcast on your channel, with the teams in the title, a thumbnail, and a start time ten minutes before tip-off so you are on air before the jump ball.
Point a phone at the court
Open SCRD, pick the game, press go. The stream starts, the score bug appears on it, and the broadcast ends when the game does.
Your channel is yours. A club's game can never be published to a UKWB channel, and a UKWB competition fixture can never be published to a club's. Videos already on your channel stay there if you disconnect us — they are your videos.
Google account access
What we ask Google for, and why
Connecting a channel uses Google's standard consent screen. We ask for one permission, and only for the purpose below.
The consent screen says UK Wheelchair Basketball, not SCRD. The Google project is registered to the charity rather than to the app, so that is the name Google shows when you approve access. SCRD is the app it belongs to, and this page describes it.

What we do not do
- Only for games the club has explicitly chosen to stream
- Only on the channel the club connected, never any other
- We do not read the channel's other videos, analytics, subscribers or comments
- We do not delete or alter anything we did not create
The token Google gives us is stored encrypted and used for nothing but creating and updating that club's own listings. We never see your Google password. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Staying in control
Turning it off
Pause it
Switch streaming off in your club's YouTube settings. The channel stays connected, but nothing will be published until you switch it back on.
Disconnect
Disconnect the channel in the same place. We forget the token immediately. Videos already published are untouched.
Revoke at Google
You can also remove our access from your own Google account at Google account permissions. That works whatever we do.
